The newly appointed VIO director, FCT, Dr. Bello Abdul-Lateef has tasked its voluntary arm, VIO Mayors to be proactive and collectively ensure that Abuja is traffic-free and residents. The director who gave the charge during a courtesy and familiarizing visit of the Mayors to his office and led by its National coordinator, Mayor Dr. John Yusuf said the Mayors should take charge and lead a Traffic awareness programmes with the nation’s capital that will enlighten the public to end the envisage endemic called Traffic in recent times.

 

 

 

 

He added that an inclusive programme be developed that will bring everyone spreading to church, mosque, entertainment industry and all professional bodies to willingly come out and be enlightened on their roles are motorists and commuters.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Bello noted that at his arrivals, one of his major priorities was to setup a voluntary body for the directorate that will help on the roads but was happy to hear that Mayors are in readily.

 

 

 

 

In his response, the Mayor National Coordinator of the VIO Mayor Dr. John Yusuf pledged the group its readiness to work assiduously to achieve the purpose for which it was created.
