As easing of lockdown continues, entertainers hail President Muhammadu Buhari through Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for being steadfast and living up to expectations.

The National President, Coalition of Nigeria Entertainers, Amb. Kenule Nwiya who gave the commendation during the weekend in Abuja while addressing the newsmen said the president was prompt in constituting a more responsive team who worked assiduously with the director General of the NCDC to nip the widespread of the deadly pandemic to quell more destruction of lives like other countries of the world.

Amb. Kenuel in his speech said no government official has ever been this responsive and committed to assigned duties like Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu recently in Nigeria adding that the DG deserves special accolade from the Buhari led-administration which will spur others to do more and shelve the normal lackadaisical attitude of the government officials.

Kenule express the organization’s readiness to partner with the agency in all means possible to educate Nigerians on how to live with this deadly pandemic as the world processes the cure for Coronavirus as well as help in preaching and producing materials to curb the insecurity the nation faces amid COVID19 ravaging era.

Speaking on the way forward for the creative industry, Kenule said the industry is the most affected as the world learns to live with this pandemic, no business thrives for the sector “while we hold series of meetings nationwide to educate ourselves on plans to continue our business in continuum of increasing the country’s GDP, the taskforce team put together by President Buhari with the mandate to develop  a blueprint to run the economy amid COVID19 should remember the place and contributions of the creative industry as this will go a long way to boast our creativity and in return help the country” he added.

“We have visited a few governors to discuss way forward for the creative industry in their respective states, we will still see others and major MDAs to making sure the industry is remembered and carried along in rebuilding and stabilizing the nation’s economy” he continued.

Nwiya registered the organization’s displeasure in being marginalised while sharing palliatives for different sectors saying while the country is on halt, entertainers are starved as they have nothing to generate income to take-care of their families and until commercial activity returns, most entertainers are food insecure and needs to be seriously looked into.
