It was a day of joy and celebration for Amb. Hussaini I. H Coomassie who was honoured by Nigerians In Diaspora Organisation Europe (NIDOE) with Leadership Service Award in Lisbon-Portugal for his contributions to youth development, empowerment and humanity.

In an interview with the elated Coomassie who couldn’t hide his joy ,thanked the organisation for finding him worthy of the prestigious award while calling on the youth to shun violence and embrace peace for the betterment of the society.
“Special thanks to the NIDOE management Board, for selecting me for this year’s Award and an enormous salute to all of this year’s nominees each of whom have made incredible contributions in the development of humanity globally.
“there has been a long discussions and deliberations about the hardship of Nigerians in diaspora, especially those in foreign prisons with different offences. While several of us would have liked to see faster actions taken to salvage the image of our dear country by deploying strict measures on Nigerians travelling abroad, I will be pleased if issues like this is presented in the next NIDOE meeting. Our brothers and sister must stand up against any ill activities that will lead them to the life of uncertainty.
“Migration, we all know it’s not an easy issue to be tackled over night, all hands must be on deck to make sure things are done accordingly.
“We must presurise the Government of Nigerians to strengthen cooperation with other countries especially Europe and far East where Nigerians face series of challenges and also NIDO should also re-introduce measures of discipline on Nigerians leaving abroad, involved so many criminal activities, if life fails you while abroad, then come back home to give it a trial, so many works and farming skills are available back home, it must not be in Europe.
“Of course we are facing challenges back home but the question, if it’s not that will correct our mistakes who do we expect to do it for us ? The EU in particular will have to develop more approaches in the field of legal immigrants serving in their countries. This is a request that has to be made to the EU by NIDOE, with the help of our embassies in Europe.” he said.
